Telescopic sight has amplification function, can see and identify distant targets, and is suitable for long-distance accurate shooting. Because it is often used for sniper purposes, it is also often referred to as a sniper scope.

The optical system of telescopic sight is still Kepler telescopic system with image rotation system. The basic structure is composed of objective lens, inverted lens (rotating mirror) and eyepiece, plus reticle. There are aiming marks on the reticle, aiming at targets at different distances by moving the reticle or using different positions of the reticle. Some sights also have zoom function, searching and aiming at close range targets with lower magnification and shooting long range targets with higher magnification.
