1. What is the principle of laser rangefinder?
Laser rangefinders generally use two methods to measure distance: pulse method and phase method. The process of pulse ranging is as follows: the laser emitted by the rangefinder is reflected by the measured object and then received by the rangefinder, and the rangefinder records the reciprocating time of the laser together. At present, the operating materials of hand-held laser rangefinders in the market are mainly the following: semiconductor laser with operating wavelength of 905 nm and 1540 nm, and YAG laser with operating wavelength of 1064 nm. 1064 nm wavelength is harmful to human skin and eyes, especially if eyes accidentally come into contact with 1064 nm wavelength laser, the harm to eyes may be permanent. Therefore, in foreign countries, 1064 nm laser has been completely revoked in the handheld laser rangefinder. In China, some manufacturers also produce 1064 nm laser rangefinders.
We call the 905 nm and 1540 nm laser rangefinders " safe." Regarding the 1064 nanometer laser rangefinder, we call it " unsafe" because of its potential harm to human body.
